JUNE

June is off to a good start!  Fewer storms and wind (Thank God!) but still bits of rain now and again.  Today is the 10th and last night we had a goodly amount, then some sun today.  I've been out in the garden this early afternoon and got in a few more seeds and planted a couple more seedlings.  Things are really settling in and starting to grow. If it weren't for the da#* rabbits, everything would be grand!  On that note, we are down at least 2:  1 adult to roadkill and 1 baby to Archie.  There's got to be another one though, because the green beans are still being nibbled.

Let's see... what has happened since last post?  OMG! Quite a bit!

Hubby is rather relieved to be done with his Tennis coaching for a bit.  We are even making time for some mini dates:

Ourdoor dining at Look's Market for a lunch.

A Saturday outing and a treat at Queen City Bakery.

And me, too!

Hubby also had his surgery on his elbow and is recovering:

Three little holes... so much pain!

I'll watch over you, Dad...

When CAN you play again, Grandpa?

Posed, for effect....

He's had the two procedures now and is supposed to be recovering with minimal movement.  He's actually doing quite well in the complaining department.  Even the Dr. said there would be quite a bit of pain but to try not to take any meds.  So he is following instructions and rarely takes even the Tylenol he's allowed.  I guess you can say he's self-medicating by watching TV almost non-stop.  Tennis or movies or binge-watching sci-fi serials.  I'm trying not to complain about the TV since he's trying not to complain about the pain...

Here are some pics of the garden.

Strawberries with a tray of seedlings in the "safe zone".

Peas in the bed with the teepee...

(this is also where I have the lawn mowing boys pile the grass for me to distribute later)

IRIS!  These gold and rust ones are a gift form Gisela in Idaho, and have bloomed for the first time since 2018!  The lavendar ones in the background are hardy and came from the McHenry Library when the renovation was done.

Just to show that I DO get out there and dig!

One weekend when DH was recovering from the State Tennis Meet, and DiL was away, DS the Elder and I took the kids to Brookings and had a fun day.

Daddy likes to play, too

And we always have fun witht he kids.  I like to pick them up from Daycare or have them for a couple of hours on a weekend.

Like her brothers, she loves to see photos of herself, so we have to take some...

She is beginning to really like Archie, and he is doing really well with her, too.

The boys always want to play Wii, but now Grandpa is side-lined.
Notice he is holding his cup with his left hand.

He still likes to dig dandelions, so his helpers kept an eye on him.

We got to a baseball game and I caught this photo! Grandson hit a foul ball,
and Dad is in the background, coaching.

Girls like to play with Brio trains, too.
Granny helped her set up a circle, but then she played by herself for quite a while.

And remember that top I was making in the last blog?  I got it done.  But it is too big.  And I need to work on my facial expressions....
UGH.  Where to start?

And so, life goes on.....
